Day 8 - Easter in Cyprus
Today I had a day off because here in Cyprus they celebrate Easter on the 1st of May. I think this is quite weird because we have celebrated Easter in March already.
This morning I slept late and after that I had breakfast with some people from the North of England. I waved goodbye to some English and French people I met here and walked to the harbour of Paphos. I ate an ice cream, enjoyed the sun and took the bus back to the hotel.
At the hotel, I played beach volleyball with a few families that stay in the hotel and I tried the waterslides. They are very nice!
Tonight I went (again) to the bingo evening. This is so much fun because the English use nicknames for the numbers. For example, 'knock at the door, number 4' and number 22 is called 'two little ducks' and the response from the audience is 'quack, quack, quack'. A Scottish man, Adam, who has visited the hotel already over 30 times (?!?!) has a bag with duck masks and duck gloves. When 22 is announced he comes to the stage and starts dancing on a duck song. You must see this yourself, it is so much fun!

Groet,
Sjoerd
